The boards, such as plywod, are cut for the covers, including a narrow board for the back. Holes are drilled at top and bottom and a strong cord or thong is laced through according to the direction indicated.
A book can be held in place by means of the vertical cord, or the cover can be used for a scrapbook by running the cord, at the top and bottom of the boards, through holes along the side of the paper.
This can also be binded using the Japanese binding method.
