A Magazine

I came across a magazine that is similar to mine but instead of changing my idea, I can use this magazine as competition as there can be more than one magazine on architecture in the north west. Plus this is based in Liverpool and mine is about Manchester but I can use this to see the content of what people like to read about.:

RIBA North West produces a quarterly magazine entitled A. 

A is the voice of architecture and design within the region, providing a vehicle to disseminate best practice in physical regeneration in the north west.

The publication is a design champion for the region, demonstrating the real difference good quality design can make to everyday life -home, work, education, health etc. 

Communication: Our regional magazine, A, exists to inform, amuse, educate and inspire our members, but at the same time encourage closer working relationships and provide a forum for discussion on hot issues affecting the built environment.  

 

Places Matter! is an organisation devoted to generating a strong sense of place in living, working and learning environments throughout the Northwest. Why? Because great places give people the feel good factor, drive economic activity and make the Northwest a better place.
We’re passionate about towns, cities, parks, streets, squares, and any building large or small. We can help clients and developers commission better design and make better decisions through our Places Matter! programme.
We’re members of the Architecture Centre Network and work with CABE and English Heritage. We also work alongside RIBA North West and NWDA so you could say we’ve got friends in all the right places.

Sale of publications: The North West regional office is able to provide the full range of current technical publications, building contracts and documentation, and all forms of appointment via a prompt nation-wide mail order service. Visitors to the RIBA Bookshop in Liverpool can browse and select from a wide choice of design related titles. There is also a shop in Manchester.

 

Client Services: working together with the comprehensive data base at RIBA HQ, the regional office is able to offer local advice and knowledge on the selection and appointment of architects’ practices in the North West. A selection of practice brochures and leaflets may be viewed at our offices.
