International style (swiss)

International or swiss style was based on the revolutionary principles of the 1920s, such as those devised by De Stijl, Bauhause and Jan Tschicholds The new Typography, which became firmly established in the 1950s. Grids, mathematical principles, minimal decoration and sans serif typography became the norm as typography developed to represent universal usefulness more than personal expression.
